What are the charges?
There is no charge for accommodation and meals to qualified guests since they are sponsored by the generous gifts from ministry supporters such as churches, business and individuals.

Qualified Guests:

  • Pastors and spouse
  • Church Staff in Leadership Positions and spouse
  • Missionaries and spouse
 
How do I make reservations?

We accept reservations on a first-"call"-first-served base. We will need to be able to verify your church/missions affiliation. Once your reservation is confirmed we will send you more detailed driving instructions.
 
Where are you located?
Shepherd’s Refuge is located about 1 ½ hrs drive North of Atlanta, more specifically, 13 miles North of Historic Dahlonega, 5 minutes from Turners Corner. A map with detailed directions will be sent once reservations are confirmed.
 
Do you have any set schedule or programs?
No. Our guests can set their own pace or seek guidance from their hosts. Bring your own books, tapes, games or choose from over 3100 titles or over 400 movies for your entertainment. We have hiking guide books for North Georgia trails, maps to go see water falls or do other sight seeing, rafting, tubing, fishing or antiquing!
 
Are children allowed?
Although we love children, we strongly recommend finding someone trustworthy to take care of them so that your time at Shepherd’s Refuge is most beneficial to spiritual and physical renewal. Please note that there is no play area for children on the grounds.
 
Is there any other type of accommodation available?
The first of five cabins is under construction and, once completed, will not only offer additional space but even more solitude.
 
Where can I find out more about pastoral stress?
There have been well documented studies done by the Barna Research Group about issues faced by church leadership. One very helpful web site is the The Parsonage, www.parsonage.org, a ministry of Focus on the Family dealing specifically with such problems.
 
What if I have reached the burnout stage?
There are other ministries that can help those who are going through the tough times of burnout. Check out some of those sites using the links page. We especially find the Parsonage.org site very informative.
