The year 2022 has been a busy year for Shepherd's Refuge as we joined the rest of the country trying to shake off the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Board of Directors used this time wisely to review best practices for governance and accountability that often get stretched during times of growth and change. Enlarging our capacity to serve ministry leaders and further develop strategic partnerships has been at the forefront of our objectives.
We engaged with several organizations including the ECFA (Evangelical Counsel of Financial Accountability). NCF (National Christian Foundation) and CareGivers Forum to proactively examine best practices on a variety of topics such as board governance. developing partnerships. pastoral care and effective growth strategies.
We also completed the design of the Welcome Center (caretakers· cabin) and met with the County Planning Committee to ensure compliance with future planning objectives. The site for the Welcome Center has been surveyed. cleared. and infrastructure requirements have been initiated to secure a Building Permit for construction. In addition. road improvements and installation of a new deck at the Lodge have been completed.
Thank each of you for your continued prayer and financial partnership as we continue to serve the needs of pastors. ministry leaders and missionaries.
